Just straight up say hey do you like me, and if they say yes, just tell them honestly that they are a good person and blah blah blah, but you don't feel that way about them. Usually the guy is just like oh ok, and then they usually move on; I've noticed that most guys don't really get "crushed" when they get rejected. If they say no, they probably either don't like you or they're too wimpy to say they do, so then you can just go ahead and assume they don't like you, so you don't have to worry about them. You should probably ignore them or tell them nicely that you don't want to continue on with false hopes. Save them some troubles later by standing up now and speaking your mind, in a firm, but gentle way. When you talk to them, don't beat around the bush, but sill get your point across in a nice manner... I still feel bad for this kid tho
